In a letter dated April 28th, 2019, Fr. Kyle Stanton, pastor of Good Shepherd and Holy Family Parishes, announced to his parishioners that Salve Regina Academy would open for the 2019-2020 Academic year on the site of the Holy Family Parish Center.
This new parish school was built upon the vision of an “authentically Catholic community of lifelong learners dedicated to discovering all that is Good, True, and Beautiful through a commitment to academic excellence and personal discipleship in the holistic tradition of Catholic education”.
Four years ago, Fr. Stanton formed a committee to establish the location, curriculum, and culture of a new Catholic school. Parents were surveyed and the results helped shape its current direction. Parents wanted a curriculum, culture, and mission distinctly different from that of other schools. They wanted a quiet location with access to the natural wonders around us, and they wanted the Faith. The motivation to establish this new school came from the community. For many years, parents and grandparents had lamented at the closure of the Catholic schools of years past. Fr. Stanton remarks that parents would often say to him, Father, is there any way you can open a Catholic school for our children? “All of [those] voices,” he said, “reached my ears, heart, and faith. It was then time for my voice to call for an answer”.
Although the parish owns a number of properties, a myriad of factors- not the least of which is financial upkeep- made Holy Family Parish Center the best option for a strong first year.As a parish school, Salve Regina Academy falls under the direct auspices of Fr. Kyle, who is Head of School. “Embarking on this journey has been a source of great joy for me over the last two years. I am so invested in the future of the school and plan to be a known presence to students, parents, and staff.”
A Committment to Catholic Faith and Values
Salve Regina Academy is a joyfully Catholic community! We strive to instill in all students the virtues and values of the Catholic faith. The school attends Mass twice a week, and joins in daily prayer and devotionals. The richness of our faith is woven throughout our curriculum, so as to impart a worldy and classical knowledge in all subjects.
A Sense of Community
Every person should be known, valued, and treasured. We encourage students to call our school "a home away from home" and take great joy in knowing each student personally. We are a safe community, committed to a joyful, respectful school environemnt, which will lead to greater focus and academic achievement.
An Active and Personal Education
With our smaller classroom sizes, we are able to truly know our students and help them to become the best version of themselves. We offer multi-age classrooms; our focus is educating each student so as to challenge those students who are ready for the extra push while encouraging those who need more assistance.
Students should be active learners. Education extends beyond the classroom walls through a variety of hands-on and adventure-based learning opportunities.
