Catholic Identity Statement
Catholic Identity
The vision, identity, and mission of Salve Regina Academy are deeply rooted in and shaped by our Catholic Faith. In addition to our focus on human dignity, focus on truth and beauty, as well as our approach to holistic learning, much of our instruction draws from the unique beliefs, prayer, and worship practices of the Catholic Church. For Catholic students, this means the Church expects active participation at Mass and SRA will be directly instructing them in how to worship and pray during Mass and other prayer times. For non-Catholic Christian students, students of other faiths, or irreligious students, our intention is to welcome them and help them to participate in a way that promotes spiritual growth (e.g. praying in their own hearts, reflecting on the life of Jesus, or observing interior silence). While students cannot be forced to pray and will never be pressured to become Catholic, all students regardless of religious affiliation will be asked to be present and engaged (e.g. kneeling/standing out of respect at the appropriate times) during Mass, the praying of the Rosary, praying before meals (Grace, Angelus, etc.), prayer and teachings within the classroom and from our staff, and other Catholic devotions. We look forward to partnering with you in the education and formation of your children

Mission
Students, faculty, and staff of Salve Regina Academy strive together to know, love, and serve God as we commit ourselves to the study of the world around us, to the imitation of Jesus, and to all the teachings of the Catholic Church under the Queenship of Mary, our Mother.
Vision
Salve Regina Academy is an authentically Catholic community of lifelong learners dedicated to discovering all that is Good, True, and Beautiful through a commitment to academic excellence and personal discipleship in the holistic tradition of Catholic education.
Philosophy
At Salve Regina Academy, the ancient practice of ora et labora (prayer and work) takes shape as the Faith is integrated into the daily undertakings of students, faculty, and staff. The work of children is to wonder at the beauty of the created universe--which they engage through diligent and active study of the arts, history, math, science, literature, and theology--and to recognize the unique dignity of human beings in that universe. The work of faculty and staff is to support the work of each individual student in a way that is reflective and respectful of that human dignity, by encouraging critical thinking, creativity, awe, and virtue.
Our Motto
"Vita Dulcedo et Spes Nostra", which is Latin for "Our Life Our Sweetness, and Our Hope". Sound familiar? It's the first line in the prayer "Hail Holy Queen" (Salve Regina in Latin).
Our motto is a reminder that all we do is for the greater Glory of God, through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, our Heavenly Advocate.
